We have a very exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join our IT Department at entry level and to acquire specialist on the job training. This vacancy is open to those aged 18-24 due to government funding restrictions and provisions under the Young People at Work regulations.
Working to a high standard under the direction of the IT Manager, we are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to assist with the day to day functions and deadlines of a busy department which currently provides support and training to approximately 200 users in 5 different locations. Based at Banham Zoo, this exciting new role will encompass all aspects of IT including the planning, development and maintenance of IT systems and networks and whilst no prior knowledge is necessary, as full training will be given, a real interest in IT is essential. A full, clean driving license will be required. Due to the nature of our business, some weekend and Bank Holiday working will be necessary.
The successful candidates will also be expected to achieve an NVQ in IT during the course of their apprenticeship over a period of approximately 12-18 months, and this will be facilitated via day release through a local college.
Hours: 40 hours a week
Salary: £2.68 per hour for the first year, rising to National Minimum Wage depending on age
