Health & Safety Administrator
An opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Administrator for the Zoological Society of East Anglia. This is a part-time permanent post, and will be based at Banham Zoo.
The successful candidate will be supporting the Health & Safety Department by providing a confidential and efficient administrative service, maintaining appropriate records and documentation in compliance with all statutory laws and regulations, carrying out project work as required, and acting as a first point of contact for line managers on all matters relating to health and safety.
Candidates must have two years’ recent experience in an administrative rôle and be comfortable working with all aspects of Microsoft Office 2013. Preference will be given to applicants who have previously worked in a similar environment, and have an understanding of health & safety terms. A full driving licence is required, as there may be occasions to attend other sites. A sense of humour is essential, along with a can-do attitude.
In order to carry out this role effectively, it is envisaged that working hours will be between 16 and 20 per week, plus holiday cover; more hours may be available during busy times but are not guaranteed, and the charity can be flexible on how these hours are distributed throughout the week. Salary will be dependent upon experience.

Seasonal Food & Beverage Team
We are looking for committed and enthusiastic people to work in the catering outlets of our award winning zoo during our main season, running through from March to November.
This is a varied role and includes preparing and serving food, till operation and general housekeeping. We offer full training with a chance to work in a fun and exciting environment.

Project & Estate Manager
Banham Zoo and Africa Alive! are two parks managed by the Zoological Society of East Anglia, a registered charity. Our current Project & Estates Manager is retiring and has been a stalwart member of the team for many years.
The successful candidate must have a wide and varied range of skills and in-depth, hands-on, construction industry experience is an essential requirement.
Each of the two parks have their own maintenance and construction staff and undertake a very wide range of both maintenance and construction projects, supplemented by external contractors as and when necessary.
The new Project and Estates Manager will have experience and knowledge in managing a workforce, orchestrating the flow of works and materials, effecting purchasing orders and invoice coding, sourcing and managing external contractors etc. They will also be capable of preparing and working to financial budgets, Undertaking major refurbishments and new construction projects, liasing with architects, planning consultants and surveyors to meet required results within budget and time constraints. They will, in all instances, work to strict Health and Safety standards, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
This is a full time role and will attract company pension & holiday benefits and will command a salry of 35k per annum. Whilst primarily based at Banham Zoo, it will be necessary to also oversee works at Africa Alive!, Kessingland, Suffolk.
