Diet

In the wild, goldfish feed on plants, insects, small crustaceans and plankton. In captivity they are fed a specially produced pellet or flake diet.

Breeding

Goldfish are egg layers and attach their tiny eggs to aquatic vegetation, where they hatch within only 48 – 72 hours! The young fish (fry) may take up to 1 year to develop their adult gold colouration.
