FUR AND FEATHERS EXPERIENCE DAY

Would you love to get really close to animals and birds and work alongside them for a day? 

The Animal Training and Presentations team offer you the opportunity to join the team for a day and help look after the birds and mammals that take part in our ‘Birds of Prey’ displays and ‘Amazing Animals’ presentations.

This practical experience day gives a deep insight into our whole wild world of animals.
 
This very hands on role involves the following exciting experiences:

• Helping with bird and animal husbandry in the department.

• Preparing the animal and bird feeds.

• Handling and flying some of the birds of prey and learning about the use of radio tracking equipment.

• Meeting the animals that take part in our 'Amazing Animals' presentation such as meerkats, armadillos, kinkajous, skunks and ferrets!.

• Helping to set up and assist with the Birds of Prey displays.

• Helping to set up and assist with the ‘Amazing Animals’ presentation.

• Helping to fly the vultures in the afternoon Bird of Prey displays.

• Fly a hawk on one of our ‘Hawk Walks’.

• See a demonstration of how we target and bridge train our animals for the presentations.

• A certificate will be received at the end of the day.
