KEEPER FOR A DAY EXPERIENCE

Through our ‘Keeper for a Day’ scheme we can offer you a unique opportunity to experience a day in the life of a Zoo Keeper.

As our guest and temporary colleague we would like to give you a true feeling of what it is like to be a keeper at Banham Zoo!

NEW SPECIALIST

HALF DAYS NOW AVAILABLE

We are now able to offer ‘Specialist’ half days for our Keeper for a Day experience for those that have a specific interest working with either primates or some of our hoofed mammals (including Giraffe)

Working with one of our keepers, your half day will be tailored so that you work with the *animals of your dreams

STANDARD FULL DAY ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE...

Cleaning the Colobus Monkey house and preparing their night feed,
releasing the Colobus Monkeys into their outside enclosure.
Feeding the Sri Lankan Leopards and releasing them into their
outside enclosure.
Preparing enrichment devices for the Otters.
Cleaning out and feeding the Meerkats
Feeding the Australian Paddock animals.

Activities for the standard half day session may include:

Cleaning out and feeding the Meerkats
Preparing enrichment devices for the Otters.
Cleaning the Leopard House


Feeding the Australian Paddock animals including the Red Kangaroos and Emus	Caring for the Colobus Monkeys includes releasing them into their outside enclosure

Activities may be subject to change on the day due to welfare or operational factors.

For Health and Safety reasons and due to the range of activities being undertaken, the 'Keeper for a Day' experience is only available to those over 14 years of age.

The programme of activities is dependant on the capability of the participants, however, where it is possible, reasonable adjustments will be made to try to ensure that the 'Keeper For a Day' experience is open to all.
