Hands on Learning!
2016 Key Stage 3 Programme
Each Key Stage 3 Discovery Session involves a selection of small animals from a variety of groups (e.g. insect, mollusc, reptile and mammal) and biofacts that the pupils can touch and hold.
These are hands-on sessions, with no written work and are designed to bring classwork to life. Children will be encouraged to ask and answer questions and participation of the trusted adults in the group will help the less confident of the children get the most from this experience.
If you have particular requirements or would like to tailor a session to a particular curriculum or scheme of work, please contact the Education Team at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01953 715337
The habitats and ecosystems of the world are very delicate and sensitive to change. Currently many changes are occurring in climate and man’s need for resources.
Biodiversity is vital in any habitat; plants, small invertebrates and apex predators are reliant upon other plants and animals. What is the reality of the current mass extinction we could be heading for? Is there hope on the horizon? How can we help?
During this session students will discuss the importance of biodiversity and ecosystems whilst getting hands on with a range of biofacts and meeting some of our smaller residents.
Just For Fun!
During this Discovery Session children will have the opportunity to touch and hold biofacts and a variety of small animals including invertebrates and a reptile. This is great chance for a fun experience at the end of term or when no specific learning goals are required.
