RESEARCH AT BANHAM ZOO

Banham Zoo has a very active research programme. Different areas of research include: animal behaviour, animal nutrition, environmental enrichment, enclosure use, physiology and veterinary science. Research is a vital tool in increasing our understanding of animals within the Zoo and in the wild and we encourage projects within our collection.

Advice for Students

Before you embark on a research project there are many areas to consider when preparing to study animals, such as sample size and methodology. To help you, the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) can provide extensive research guidelines which will answer many of your questions and queries. For more information please look at the research section of the BIAZA website: www.biaza.org.uk
