For Wildlife, Everywhere
New Habitats Opening Soon
Zoo News
Exciting developments are underway at the zoo, with two major habitat projects.
Work began this spring on our brand-new South American habitat, which is due to open this summer. Transforming an underused area of the zoo into a vibrant mixed-species environment, the new habitat will soon welcome incredible new species.
Designed with animal welfare at its heart, the habitat will provide an excellent home for its new residents while giving visitors an engaging opportunity to discover South America's unique wildlife and the importance of protecting it.
Elsewhere, Penguin Cove is undergoing a major upgrade while our African black-footed penguins enjoy a summer stay in their temporary habitat.
The improvements will include a second pool, enhanced facilities to support our important breeding programme, and new glass-fronted viewing areas for visitors.
As a conservation and education charity, these projects reflect our ongoing commitment to providing the highest standards of animal care while creating more immersive experiences for our visitors. We look forward to sharing further updates as work progresses, including news of some exciting new animal arrivals!
