Get your trainers ready and your wild side warmed up, Banham Zoo is thrilled to announce the return of its much-loved Run Banham Zoo 5K on Saturday 9 May 2026, proudly sponsored by Everywhen Insurance. After the roaring success of previous years, this unique event is back and bigger than ever, inviting runners of all abilities to take part in a 5K like no other, all in support of wildlife conservation.
Set within Norfolk’s largest zoo, the Run Banham Zoo 5K offers an unforgettable running experience. The mostly flat, scenic course winds through beautiful parkland and past some truly extraordinary residents, from giraffes and penguins to lemurs, meerkats and gelada baboons. Where else can you race with kangaroos cheering you on and vultures watching from above? It’s a vibrant, feel-good event that blends fitness, fun and fantastic animal encounters.
Whether you’re chasing a personal best, jogging with friends, walking with family or taking on your very first 5K, this event is designed to be welcoming and inclusive for everyone. Every step taken helps support Banham Zoo’s vital conservation work, protecting endangered species both locally and across the globe - so you really are running wild for wildlife.
Your race entry includes full-day access to the zoo, a well-earned finisher’s medal, and the chance to explore the zoo after you cross the finish line. There will also be prizes for the fastest male and female runners in adult and child categories, plus an award for the top conservation fundraiser. Spectators are warmly welcomed too, with discounted tickets available so friends and family can join the celebrations.
Places are limited, and demand is expected to be high, so early booking is strongly recommended. Entry is just £17.50 for all, and for those who fancy an extra challenge, you can also sign up for the 5K at Africa Alive on 29 August 2026 — complete both races to earn an exclusive interlocking medal, courtesy of Everywhen Insurance. Ready to lace up and make a difference? Book now and get ready for a truly wild run. (Visit our Events section online to book!)
